Singer Belinda Carlisle is best known as the lead singer of the 1980s new wave band The Go-Gos, an all-female outfit whose hits include the enduring radio staples ‘Our Lips Are Sealed’ and ‘We Got the Beat.’
Carlisle launched her solo career in 1985 with popular singles including as ‘Mad About You’ and ‘I Get Weak’, among others.
Get ready to see more of Carlisle: the 64-year-old California native is performing at the nation’s Capitol for PBS’s Capitol Fourth celebration, hosted by actor and TV personality Alfonso Ribeiro (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, America’s Funniest Home Videos, Dancing with the Stars).

As seen above at the Capitol, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer (class of 2021) is wearing a chic black top with a multi-colored sequin skirt by one of her favorite fashion labels, Le Superbe, of Southern California.
She’s wearing another “fab” — as she says — Le Superbe skirt above and dress below.
Other musicians performing at the PBS Capitol Fourth event include Chicago, Boyz II Men, Babyface, and Renée Fleming, among others.
More good news for Carlisle fans: in February and early March 2024, she will open for Rick Astley (‘Never Gonna Give You Up’, ‘Together Forever,’) in the UK on his Are We There Yet? Tour.
