Scottish singer/songwriter Annie Lennox, 68, is known her music with Dave Stewart as the 1980s band Eurythmics, which released hit songs including ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)’ and ‘Here Comes the Rain Again,’ among others.
In 1992, Lennox launched her solo career with her debut album, Diva, which produced several hit singles including ‘Why’ and ‘Walking on Broken Glass.’
When the news broke that Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor, 56, had passed, Lennox posted the photo below with a poem, in which she refers to O’Connor as a “lioness and lamb.”
In 2017, after O’Connor released a disturbing video of herself, Lennox replied: “I realise that Sinead has some serious mental health issues, but she appears to be completely out on a limb and I’m concerned for her safety.”
There is no documentation to support that O’Connor and Lennox have ever met or performed together however both recorded a song for the 1990 Cole Porter tribute album Red Hot + Blue, a benefit for AIDS awareness.
Lennox recorded a version of Porter’s ‘Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye’ and O’Connor recorded ‘You Do Something to Me’ — video above.
