The Season 6 finale of Young Sheldon is a special one-hour event as CBS will air two episodes back-to-back. And it includes at least one tear-jerker scene.
As seen in the sneak peek video below, while Sheldon (Iain Hermitage) emotionally prepares for his summer stay in Germany, he tries to reconcile with his twin sister, Missy (Raegan Revold), via walkie talkie.
He explains to her: “We’ve never been away from each other for this long, which will be different. And I don’t like when thing are different.” Watch the clip for the silent tear-jerker moment after Sheldon’s confession.
On a lighter night, the finale will also include laugh-out-loud moments as the rest of the Cooper family braves a tornado that’s heading straight for Medford.
Good news for Young Sheldon fans: the family sitcom will returns for a seventh season in the fall. However, executive producer Steve Holland told TVLine that he and other execs on the show have talked about it being the last.
Holland said the showrunners are talking about ending the show after Season 7. “When you’re in the middle of a season,” Holland said, “it’s such a grind that we haven’t had too many in-depth conversations. But now, as we’re getting to the end [of Season 6], we’ve started to talk about it more.”
The Young Sheldon Season 6 finale will air on Thursday, May 18 at 8 pm ET.
