On the Season 10 reunion of Married at First Sight, the five couples who got married reunite to talk about their journeys and the ups and downs of their marriages. Eager fans want to know — after five months since deciding if they were going to stay married or get divorced — if they’re stuck to their decisions.
Remember, only two decided to stay married: Katie and Derek and Jessica and Austin.
At the MAFS reunion, where Katie goes bra-less a gorgeous green satin tie-front peekaboo dress, Derek reveals to host Kevin Frazier that while “celebrating” their one month anniversary in their new place together in Nashville, Katie said she wanted to separate.
They continued to live together (they signed a one-year lease) but stayed in separate bedrooms. Katie said, “We made it work until we found people to take our lease over.”
When Kevin asks Derek if Katie’s decision broke his heart, he says: “Thankfully, Katie made it real easy not to really be able to fall in love with her.” Ouch!
He adds, “Yeah, I got hurt.” Katie admits to having slept with her ex-boyfriend, the one they talked about on the show, and refers to their encounter as “a physical slip up”.
Katie tries to explain that at that time she was “disappointed with the lack of connection, both emotionally and physically” that she had with her husband Derek.
