Mitch Lightfoot is the 6’8” senior power forward on the Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball team. While he’s tied for 20th on the KU career blocked shots list with 98 — tied with former NBA star Paul Pierce (KU, 1996-98) — coach Bill Self has decided to redshirt the senior for the 2019-2020 season.
Lightfoot, who will graduate this semester and is now earning his master’s degree slated for Spring 2021, would have had to compete with fellow big men Azubuike, McCormack, and De Sousa, for minutes. Self said of Lightfoot, “I think he deserved an opportunity to start” and “his best opportunity would be next year.”
When not on a NCAA court, Lightfoot spends time with his gorgeous girlfriend, Addison Daniel, a former Kansas cheerleader and now KU alum. Check out the cute couple at Beaver Lake in the bikini pics below!
