Actress Yara Shahidi doesn’t appear on black-ish anymore: she stars in the spin-off show Grown-ish, where her character Zoey Johnson goes to college. It was announced that Grown-ish has been renewed for a third season on Freeform. Premiere date to be announced.
When not on a TV set, Shahidi has been enjoying her downtime in a bikini, lip syncing to the 1982 romantic ballad “I Keep Forgetting (Every Time You’re Near)” by former Doobie Brothers lead singer Michael McDonald. The 19-year-old captioned the video “I’ll ~never forget~ my vacation energy.”
The song “I Keep Forgetting” is about a guy struggling of getting over a relationship, especially when his former lover is near.
Fun fact about the song: That’s McDonald’s sister Maureen McDonald singing the backup vocals.
Good exercise helps raise one’s energy as Shahidi knows from working out in the gym… and with her gorgeous mother. It also helps to have good genes!
