NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal doesn’t play the legacy game. Or rather he plays it on his own terms, just the way he played basketball. The 4x NBA champion and 3x NBA Finals MVP says he ignores what people say about his legacy because he can’t control what “earthlings” write or think. But then he supplies any earthlings who’ll listen all the reasons they need to consider Shaq’s legacy in the brightest of lights…
Shaq did his job(s) as he saw them, and that’s that. Says Shaq, offering proof that any earthlings who doubt him are foolish: “My job was to fulfill a dream as a youngster, I did that. My job was to try to become one of the greatest ever, I did that. My job was to become the most dominant player, I did that. My job was to win championships, I did that.”
Shaq continued, “my job was to do all of that and take my mother house shopping. That’s what I wanted to do.”
