Justin Timberlake is a pretty good celebrity golfer. We mean you wouldn’t want to play him for money. (Note about serious celebrity golfers: they have time to golf. Even when on tour, they golf. They practice and get better while you are likely working. This is good to keep in mind in case you ever get to play against Timberlake or Tony Romo or Steph Curry — they are good.)
But being a very good celebrity golfer is nothing like being a very good professional golfer. It’s like the difference between a house cat and a mountain lion. So when Rory McIlroy recently took Justin Timberlake to golf school, teaching him how to get out of a bunker, Timberlake was all humility and eager student. Watch below (scroll right):
McIlroy — who has an extra $15 million in his pockets after winning the FEDEX Cup title — just knocked it in, of course. It’s a shot the average golfer might hit a hundred or more times without making — or even getting within a foot. “If you practice your bunker shots, do that,” McIlroy says to Timberlake, “that makes it so much easier.” Sure looks that way. “Gotcha,” Timberlake replies.
