They likely won’t play together this season (2019-20) due to the big fella’s Achilles injury, but in this free agency season of giant seismic moves all over the NBA, none is bigger that the event that puts Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant together on the Brooklyn Nets. Irving may have burned some bridges in Boston — never seeming happy there and hardly endearing himself to fans — but Irving has always done the most important thing: made himself known to the best players in the game.
These days people everywhere are saying “I see you” as the highest compliment — and it makes sense in a world that’s super-crowded and where standing out is harder and harder.
