American Princess is a new scripted drama on Lifetime. The protagonist is Upper East Side Manhattanite socialite Amanda Klein (Georgia Flood). Her dreams of marital bliss come to a halt just hours before her wedding when she discovers that her fiancé has been cheating her. In the two-hour premiere (two episodes back to back), Amanda skips town, joins a Renaissance Faire and becomes the Faire’s newest wench-in-waiting. Her mother, Joanntha, pleads with Amanda to come home.
Amanda’s mother, Joanntha, is portrayed by Lesley Ann Warren. The Oscar nominated actress is known for her roles on The Cool Kids (Martin Mull’s girlfriend Kathleen), In Plain Sight (Jinx Shannon), Desperate Housewives (Sophie Bremmer), Will & Grace (Tina), the original Mission: Impossible (Dana Lambert), and in movies including Clue (Miss Scarlet) and Victor Victoria with Julie Andrews, for which she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in 1982. American Princess premieres on Lifetime on Sunday, June 2 at 9 pm.
