On The Simpsons episode “Woo-Hoo Dunnit,” the secret stack of cash—AKA Lisa’s college fund— that Marge keeps under the sink goes missing, and the documentary crime series “Deadline Springfield” goes in-depth to solve the case, leaving no stone unturned. King Toot, who is voiced by SNL alum Will Forte, reappears after a five-year hiatus.
The first and last time King Toot appeared was in the Season 26 episode “Covercraft” (2014), when Homer formed a cover band with other dads in town. King Toot — who wears his buttoned shirt unbuttoned to reveal a dark curly nest of hair and big necklace with a musical clef pendant — owns the music store in Springfield where Lisa got both her saxophones. It’s right next to Moe’s Tavern. In the “Covercraft” episode, Moe got mad at King Toot for using Moe’s dumpster and both small business owners were arrested. In this episode, King Toot gets to scat and “bee-bop” to Dave Brubeck’s classic “Take Five.” Watch/listen to clip below.
Forte is currently filming the full-length animated film Scoob based on the Scooby-Doo cartoon (he’s voicing Shaggy) which is slated to hit theaters in 2020. The Simpsons airs Sundays at 8 pm on FOX, right before Bob’s Burgers.
