In the For the People episode “Moral Suasion,” new federal public defender Allison Adams (Jasmin Savoy Brown) has a new client: a man who’s been arrested for selling illegal cigarettes. She’s determined to get him released without bail. Meanwhile, Judge Nicholas Byrne is called to jury duty. At first, he’s excited about experiencing the criminal justice system from another perspective. But when it comes time for the jury to vote, he’s the odd man out.

Judge Nicholas Byrne is portrayed by Vondie Curtis-Hall.
