Former 98 Degrees boy band member Nick Lachey and his wife, former Miss Teen USA Vanessa Lachey, are back hosting the Miss USA Competition this year. Held at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno Tahoe, there will be a number of live performances including one from Nick Lachey and another from rapper T-Pain. Six days ago he took to social media to announce that he was taking a six-day break. He apologized “to all the schools and venues” and explained that he wanted to be “100% on that stage and give my all but I wouldn’t be able to in my current condition. Rescheduling is happening as we speak. Thank you for understanding. Again, my sincere apologies.”
In the video below, he goes on explain that he just got off tour, sometimes doing two shows a day and then there’s the after parties. “I haven’t been taking care of myself,” he admits. When he started feeling “some pain in his throat,” the doctor told him to take a break otherwise he could risk doing permanent damage to his voice. T-Pain reveals that the doctor also gave him “a shot in my ass” and a couple of “expensive” drug prescriptions. 2019 Miss USA airs Thursday, May 2 at 8 on Fox.
