Jennifer Lopez is getting close to fans exactly the way social media is designed to enable. JLo isn’t just gonna show up in your town and put on a spectacle — well, actually, she is going to do that. But not just that. First, the superstar is going to take us all behind the scenes of the preparation for her new Jennifer Lopez It’s My Party tour.
The deal is JLo wants it to feel like it’s her birthday party — she’s turning 50. Or as she says: “The tour is coming. It is here. I thought to myself my god it’s a big birthday, we’re going on tour, I want it to be the experience like where you walk into the arena that it feels like it’s my birthday party.”

The superstar, who turns 50 on July 24, is showing us what it takes to put the tour together, revealing the production — the “inner workings” — behind the spectacle. As she writes, “We are GRINDING it out in tour rehearsals and meetings.” She says she and her team won’t really know what the show is until about a week before, “when it’s really locked in.” Stay tuned for more grinding.
