LeBron James is a basketball fan first. Yup before he could play he watched, and as he began to develop his all-world style he kept watching. James knows Michael Jordan’s game inside out. So even if LeBron hadn’t been shut down for the season by the Lakers he isn’t gonna miss it when the Golden State Warriors come to town.
First of all James will get to see great (Warriors) basketball — something he wasn’t able to enjoy a lot of this year. Second, with Kevin Durant approaching free agency and media speculation running rampant about KD’s next stop, how could James miss a chance to troll the media and chat with Durant in public. OMG, what did they say to one another? (see video below)
Well it looked like the two, with their hands gratuitously hiding their mouths, weren’t saying a damn thing — especially from the very amused look on Durant’s face. Is James trying to lure KD to the Lakers to make yet another NBA superteam? Maybe with Kyrie Irving too? Is that what they were talking about as they stood on the court — LeBron in street clothes and Durant in uniform, unable to contain his bemused smile?
If you want the soundtrack to this conversation, you might try the old Bonnie Raitt song “(Let’s give ’em) Something To Talk About.” Any fan that thinks something’s afoot because these two friends, fellow competitors and NBA MVPs have a conversation at the Staples Center isn’t necessarily wrong. But there are a whole lot of places these two hoop star business moguls can talk in private. Teasing fans at the Staples Center is just showmanship and knowing your audience.
