The extremely “quotacious” Shaquille O’Neal, venerable department store brand JCPenney, and the Wilhelmina modeling agency are recruiting models to promote the new clothing brand Shaquille O’Neal XLG.
Big & Tall shops everywhere — from DestinationXL to Robert Graham — must feel like Shaq is posting them up in the lane. Because nobody, let’s be honest, says BIG quite like Shaq.
O’Neal also knows how to generate some serious marketing magic. All The Big Aristotle needs to do is show up somewhere to turn a moment into an event. But when Shaq shows up somewhere offering modeling jobs for his new line of Shaq style XL? That’s an unbeatable draw.
And that’s what’s going down across the country this month, as Shaq and Wilhelmina look for big men to model the NBA legend’s new line of roomy suits. (Wilhelmina calls its XL modeling division the Titan Division — that’s where the new models will be working. Here’s a link to the Shaquille XLG model contest registration, if you can’t get there in person.)
So if you’re big and looking good, get to Atlanta on April 11 (JCPenney at South Point Shopping Center), LA on April 18 (JCPenney at Glendale Galleria) or Dallas on April 25 (JCPenney at Stonebriar Mall) for a live casting call. Shaq will be there, too.
