In The Cool Kids episode “Margaret Ups Her Game,” Margaret (Vicki Lawrence) attempts to date long-haired, ponytail-wearing Gene who’s considered to be the hottest guy in Shady Meadows. But she can’t seem to rid herself of clingy Leonard (Stephen Tobolowsky). Meanwhile, Hank (David Alan Grier) tries to sell his erotic vampire novel, with the help of Sid’s (Leslie Jordan) cousin Roy (Gary Kraus).
Hot guy with ponytail Gene is portrayed by Patrick Duffy. Duffy is known for his roles on American Housewife (Katie’s father Marty), The Bold and the Beautiful (Stephen Logan), Step by Step (patriarch Frank Lambert with Suzanne Somers as his wife Carol), Dallas (Bobby Ewing), and Man from Atlantis (Mark Harris), among others. The Cool Kids airs Fridays at 8:30 pm on ABC, right after Last Man Standing.
