During Season 7 of Little Women: LA, while Tonya Banks was rolling out her wine, L’Tonya Renee, Terra Jole told her she had a business opportunity to invest in Black Girl Moscato and asked Tonya to join the partnership and become the face of the wine company. Tonya rejected the offer and told Terra she was offended by the name. The tension between the two former best friends is still present in Season 8. Before the premiere of Season 8 of Little Women: LA, 2paragraphs asked Tonya about her decision to pursue and expand her wine company.
2paragraphs: After everything that you and Terra went through because of your wine businesses, did you hesitate at all before deciding to launch your wine?
Tonya: “No, I was never hesitant to launch my wine because I had started the process of doing my wine way in the spring, late spring early summer, so by time I found out that Terra was doing a wine it just, you know, I was already deep into the process, I was half-way through the process. So, no, I was never hesitant. I never thought to ‘no, not do it’ because it was something I already had a passion and it was something I wanted to do.”
In the exclusive interview video above, Tonya says the wine controversy came up because she didn’t want to be “the face of that particular name” (Black Girl Moscato). Tonya says, “But eventually Terra did change the name and now her brand is Mini Mama and mine is L’Tonya Renee, and it’s all good. There’s room for if any of the other girls want to do a wine. There’s room for all of us to come out with a wine or a book, makeup or clothes. It’s not like, oh, only one of us can do something.” The Season 8 premiere of Little Women: LA airs Thursday, April 4 at 10 pm on Lifetime.
