In The Walking Dead episode “Bounty,” while a supply run for the Kingdom turns into a dangerous quest, the savage group led by Alpha confronts the Hilltop in a harrowing attempt to retrieve her daughter. Alpha states very clearly in her Southern accent, “Bring me my daughter or there will be conflict.” When Daryl (Norman Reedus) tells her, “You can’t have her,” she replies, “Wrong answer.”
[Check out Morton with Cruise in Minority Report]
Alpha is portrayed by Samantha Morton. The 41-year-old English-born actress has been nominated for two Oscars: for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Sarah) in Jim Sheridan’s In America (2004) and Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Hattie, see photo below with Sean Penn) in Woody Allen’s Sweet and Lowdown (2000). Morton is also recognized for her roles in Steven Spielberg’s Minority Report (Agatha, see link above), Charlie Kaufman’s Synecdoche, New York (Hazel), and Jesus’ Son (heroin addict Michelle), among others. The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 pm on AMC.
We’re not married. I’m not the marrying kind. I can’t settle. Whole idea leaves me cold. So I thought … I would buy you some lunch and say good-bye.
