On the Splitting Up Together episode “China Curious,” Lena (Jenna Fischer) tries to figure out if her daughter Mae (Olivia Keville) is romantically involved with her new best friend, China. When Mae asks if China can sleep over, Lena is clearly uncomfortable and forced her to confront her own issues with intimacy.
Mae’s friend China on Splitting Up Together is portrayed by Rowan Blanchard. The 17-year-old actress is best known for her roles on The Golbergs (Adam’s girlfriend Jackie Geary), Girl Meets World (Riley Matthews, SEE LINK ABOVE) and in the 2018 Ava DuVernay film A Wrinkle in Time with Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon, among others. Splitting Up Together airs Tuesdays at 9:30 pm on ABC, right after black-ish and right before The Rookie.
