Obvious Wines is a new line of curated wines with straightforward labels for a snob-free client. The entrepreneur behind Obvious Wines, Brice Baillie originally from Champagne, France and now living in Venice Beach, California, is pitching his business on Shark Tank on January 27. And yes, Kevin “Mr. Wonderful” O’Leary, owner of the wine label Vintage Wine Estates, is there to taste the product. Baillie gives a memorable presentation with a French mime.
Prior to launching Obvious Wines, Baillie was a finance director at giant cosmetics company L’Oréal for eight years. While working for L’Oréal in New York City, Baillie co-founded Diffractions Theatre, a theatre collective that produced plays based on cultural exchanges between French-speaking countries and the U.S. He produced six plays over two years and acted in two of the plays — see photos below.
