Guzzle Buddy is a patented wine glass that screws into an opened bottle of wine. It eliminates the need for pouring wine into a glass and corking and uncorking the bottle. The idea was inspired by an episode of Cougar Town, the TV series starring Courteney Cox, whose character complains about “wine wrist” which comes from the laborious act of having to refill glasses of wine. The real-life founders of Guzzle Buddy, Jennifer Sullivan and her brother-in-law Randy Rothfus pitched their business on Shark Tank in January 2018. They went into the Tank seeking an investment of $400,000 in exchange for 10 percent equity. They left with a deal with Daymond John — $400,000 in exchange for 25 percent equity. Note: There’s also a Guzzle Buddy for beer bottles!
