CBS Foods is a company in Nashville, Tennessee known for its shrimp-based burgers (shrimp, peppers and spices). The founder of the company, Chef Shawn “Chef Big Shake” Davis, pitched his food company on Shark Tank in March 2011. He went into the Tank seeking an investment of $200,000 in exchange for 25 percent equity but, alas, didn’t get a deal on the show. However, after the episode aired, Davis did secure $500,000 from private investors which enabled CBS Food to roll out a large distribution plan to get into thousands of grocery stores across the country. Davis says that after the Shark Tank episode aired, his sales grew from $30,000 to $5 million in just one year. “Shark Tank saved my business and my life, I owe them everything,” Davis said in a Shark Tank update.

Davis stopped selling CBS Shrimp Burgers in grocery stores nationwide due to the cost, but he continues to sell in restaurants across the country including his Big Shake’s Hot Chicken & Fish restaurants in Tennessee and Alabama. Shark Tank investor Mark Cuban told Good Morning America that he regretted not investing in entrepreneur Davis and his shrimp burger business. New episodes of Shark Tank air Sundays at 9 pm on ABC.
