In The Conners episode “The Separation of Church and Dan,” D.J.’s (Michael Fishman) wife Geena (Maya Lynne Robinson) is upset when she learns that he hasn’t been taking their daughter Mary (Jayden Rey) to church while she’s been away. So when Sunday comes around, Geena gets Mary ready — but Mary refuses to go without her cousins Harris (Emma Kenney) and Mark (Ames McNamara) which makes things really awkward in the Conner house. Patriarch Dan Conner (John Goodman) brings up the subject at his poker game where his friend Dwight has an opinion and shares it with Harris and Mark’s mother Darlene (Sara Gilbert).
Dan’s friend Dwight is portrayed by Stephen Monroe Taylor. He’s known for his roles on Texas Rising (Gator Davis), Anger Management (Wayne, SEE LINK ABOVE), American Dreams (Timothy Clovis), and in the 2011 Reese Witherspoon and Robert Patterson film Water for Elephants (Wade), among others. The Conners airs Tuesdays at 8 pm on ABC, right before The Kids Are Alright.
