Oilerie is a chain of retail stores in the Midwest owned by husband and wife team, Curt Campbell and Amy Jo Campbell. While traveling in Europe, the Campbells were impressed with stores that allowed customers to taste olive oils and then bottle them, so they opened America’s first such store in their home state of Wisconsin. The Campbells pitched their business on Shark Tank in October 2014. While Mark Cuban loved Campbell and his entrepreneurial spirit, the Campbells did not get a deal. Curt said in a Beyond the Tank episode, “The first two months after the Shark Tank episode were very dark times for me.” He added, “I dug myself a custom-made pity pool, and I just dove into it.” But Campbell eventually turned his business and his life around and proceeded to grow the franchise.
