In the second episode of Rel, “Laundry Room,” newly single Rel (Lil Rel Howery) finds the motivation to get off the couch and invites his Dad (Sinbad), brother Nat (Jordan L. Jones), and friend Brittany (Jessica “Jess Hilarious” Moore) to brunch. But his plan gets derailed when all of his clothes are held hostage in his laundry room by a local gang, the Lords. Think Miss Jenkins is going to help Rel?
Miss Jenkins is portrayed by TV veteran actress Marla Gibbs. The 87-year-old actress known for her roles on Station 19 (Edith), black-ish (Mabel), The Carmichael Show (Grandma Francis), The Hughleys (Hattie Mae Hughley), 227 (Mary Jenkins), and The Jeffersons (Florence Johnston, for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award five years in a row in the 1980s), among others. Rel airs Sundays at 9:30pm on FOX, right after Family Guy.
