In the Season 2 premiere of S.W.A.T., “Shaky Town,” the SWAT team is in a standoff with human traffickers holding child hostages. And if that isn’t enough, a major earthquake hits Los Angeles during the operation which threatens the take-down. On a lighter note, Hondo (Shemar Moore) finds time to hook up with the gorgeous Deputy District Attorney Nia Wells. In the morning they try to read each other’s personalities. While she basically calls Hondo “an angry black man,” he calls her “an overachiever who calculates her conviction rate down to the decimal point and insists on staying an hour later than anyone else in the office.” The exchange can’t help but be sexy as Moore is standing there shirtless.
Deputy D.A. Nia Wells is portrayed by model/actress Nikiva Dionne.The Baltimore native is known for her roles on HBO’s Insecure (Stacy Sutton), Definitely Not the One (Laila Nicole Wright), Get Your Life (Daphne Dean-Hicks), Secrets and Lies (Tina Sawyer), and Average Joe (Kim), among others. Fun fact: Dionne made her TV debut in 2015 on Jane the Virgin as a nurse. Dionne will appear next on the big screen in the film The Creatress with Fran Drescher and Peter Bogdanovich. S.W.A.T. airs Thursdays at 10pm on CBS, right after the new Murphy Brown.
