In the Season 2 premiere of The Good Doctor, while Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) proposes treatment for a homeless patient (Raphael Sbarge), Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff) must overcome his personal feelings about his oncologist, Dr. Marina Blaize. In the Season 1 finale of The Good Doctor, Glassman revealed that he’s been diagnosed with brain cancer and has an inoperable tumor.
Dr. Marina Blaize is portrayed by Lisa Edelstein. She’s known for her roles on Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce (Abby), House (Dean of Medicine, Dr. Lisa Cuddy), Felicity (Lauren), Ally McBeal (Cindy McCauliff), The West Wing with Richard Schiff! (call girl/law student Laurie), and Superman (Mercy Graves), among many others. The Good Doctor airs Mondays at 10pm on ABC, right after Dancing with the Stars.
