In the Outdaughtered episode “The Last Time This Happened We Had Quints!,” when Danielle Busby tells her husband Adam that her period is late, her husband acts a little weird. Danielle says she’s not worried because more than two years ago Adam got a vasectomy, a procedure that is nearly 100 percent effective. At least, Danielle assumed Adam did what he said he was going to do (meaning he had the procedure). The thing with vasectomies is, after the procedure, the patient returns to the doctor’s office to make sure there’s no sperm in the semen. If there is sperm in the semen, the patient needs to take the test again – until there are no swimmers left. Note: Last time Danielle was late, she was pregnant with the quints!

The idea of being pregnant again isn’t the only concern in the Busby household. This August, Danielle and Adam have been busy preparing all six daughters for school. Blayke is now in second grade, and the quints are in Pre-K. Danielle wrote on the family blog that they choose to split up the quints into three different classrooms. Here’s the breakdown: Ava and Riley are together in one classroom, Olivia and Parker Kate in another, and Hazel is the only Busby in her class. Danielle explains, “Hazel is so independent and could care less if her sisters are in same room as her” and they split up Ava and Olivia “so they can hopefully grow a little bit more independent and not lean on the other identical so much.” And “Riley and Olivia bicker the most so Riley and Ava will do better in a class together than Riley and Ava.”
