In the Code Black episode “Step Up,” members of a local high school step team show up at Angela Memorial after a pyramid stunt goes wrong. Medic Rox (Moon Bloodgood) recognizes the coach, Mia. Mia was Rox’s former step coach. Things didn’t end well with them, so Rox decides to make amends Mia.
Coach Mia is portrayed by April Grace. She’s known for her roles on How to Get Away with Murder (Judge Renee Garret), Sons of Anarchy (Loutreesha Haddem), Lost (Bea Klugh), Joan of Arcadia (Sgt. Toni Williams), and Star Trek: The Next Generation (Transporter Technician Hubbell), among others. Grace is also recognized for her roles in the films The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Doctor Aurelius) and Magnolia (journalist Gwenovier, see link above), among others. Code Black airs Wednesdays at 10pm on CBS.
