On Growing Up Hip Hop, while Master P finds out that his brother has gone on a hunger strike in jail, Pepa gets a visit from her son Tyran. The young man, 28, comes to town with a lot of old baggage in tow. Before everyone gets together for a welcome party in his honor, Tyran interrogates Egypt’s boyfriend Sam who Tee Tee thinks is too controlling of Egypt and her career. When in Vegas, Pepa worries that Egypt and Sam are going to get married. So she and Tyran try to find her before it’s too late.

Egypt’s father is Treach of Naughty by Nature (born Anthony Criss). Tyran’s father is rapper Tyran “Tah-Tah” Moore who is also known as Barry Ridick. In 2003, 13 years after Tyran Jr. was born, Moore was arrested for illegally possessing a firearm after a two-and-a-half-hour standoff with police in Brooklyn, New York. On social media, Tyran refers to Treach as “dad” and “pops” and Treach refers to Tyran as his “oldest prince”. Earlier this week Tyran shared the stage with Treach on the Ship-Hop cruise. Fun fact: Tyran’s godfather is Play from Kid ‘N Play. Growing Up Hip Hop airs Thursdays at 9pm on WEtv.
