Rayshun LaMarr is the 33-year-old singer from North Carolina who’s competing on Season 14 of The Voice. He made a big impression on the premiere on The Voice when he sang Journey’s anthem “Don’t Stop Believing” for his Blind Audition. Rayshun choose the song because he identifies with the lyrics. For two years he battled lymphoma and multicentric Castleman’s disease, a rare disease that attacks the lymph nodes and tissues. Rayshun temporarily lost his hearing and his voice. Castleman’s disease is treated with chemotherapy and radiation. Rayshun is now cancer free.

For his Battle Round, Rayshun and fellow Team Adam member Tish Haynes Keys sang “Sweet Thing.” Adam Levine picked Rayshun as the winner of the Battle, and then Tish was stolen by Kelly Clarkson. Rayshun is preparing for his Knockout Round with the help of Adam Levine’s former Voice winner, Jordan Smith. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
