Pryor Baird is the 35-year-old singer from Orcutt, California who impressed all the coaches on The Voice, Season 14. Pryor really made an impression on rookie coach Kelly Clarkson who commented on Pryor’s chest hair and called him “a real man.” For his Blind Audition he sang “I Don’t Need No Doctor.” For his Battle Round against Kaleb Lee they sang the Tom Petty song “Don’t Do Me Like That.” For his Knockout Round, Pryor chose the Billy Preston funk/soul song “Will It Go Round In Circles.” (Preston co-wrote the song with Bruce Fisher of “You Are So Beautiful” fame.)

When “Will It Go Round In Circles” was released as a single in 1973, it was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for two weeks. Preston followed that up with another #1 song “Nothing from Nothing.” Oh, and Preston also has a songwriting credit on The Beatles song “Get Back,” among others. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
