Season 26 of Dancing with the Stars is a special one. Ten athletes will compete against each other. Most of them are famous including infamous figure skater Tonya Harding, NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and 2-time MLB World Series champ Johnny Damon. The one athlete who is not yet a household name is Arike Ogunbowale. She’s the 21-year-old basketball player at the University of Notre Dame, the Division I team that won the 2018 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship. The 5’8” guard was named MVP after hitting two game-winning baskets in consecutive games. (Notre Dame beat Mississippi State 61-58 in the championship game).

While Kareem and his pro dancer partner Lindsay Arnold dance to the Stevie Wonder classic “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours),” Arike and her partner Gleb Savchenko will do a Salsa to the song “Them Girls” by Whitney Myer. Myer was a contestant on The Voice, Season 2 (on Team Adam). For her blind audition she sang Alicia Keys’ “No One,” and got all four judges (Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton) to turn their chairs. (Singer Jermaine Paul won Season 2.) Dancing with the Stars: Athletes airs Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
