In the Mom episode “Charlotte Brontë and a Backhoe,” Christy (Anna Faris) struggles with the fact that she’s been rejected from law school. Meanwhile her mom Bonnie (Allison Janney) locks horns with Miranda, Jill’s (Jaime Pressly) “inner strength” coach from the retreat. Bonnie calls Miranda, a petite motorcycle riding blonde, “a muppet” and “a dick,” among other things.
Miranda is portrayed by Kristin Chenoweth. The 4’11” tall triple threat from Oklahoma is known for her roles on Broadway (she won a Tony Award for her role as Sally Brown in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown), and on TV shows including Glee (April Rhodes), GCB (Carlene Cockburn), Pushing Daisies (Olive Snook), and The West Wing (Annabeth Schott), among others. Allison Janney, by the way, is 6 feet tall. Mom airs Thursdays at 9pm on CBS, right after Young Sheldon and right before Life in Pieces.
