In the Designated Survivor episode “Summit,” President Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) invites the leaders of East and West Hanchu to Camp David. He hopes to broker a peace treaty but it turns out to be a high-stakes showdown. By Kirkman’s side is former POTUS and Kirkman’s Secretary of State, Cornelius Moss.
President Moss is portrayed by Geoff Pierson. Pierson is currently starring in the new ABC series Splitting Up Together starring Jenna Fisher (he plays the father of Fisher’s character). Pierson has worked with Sutherland before: he played President John Keeler on 24. Pierson is also recognized for his roles on Dexter (Deputy Chief Tom Matthews, see photo below), Boardwalk Empire (Senator Walter Edge), Unhappily Ever After (Jack Malloy), and Grace Under Fire (Jimmy Kelly), among others. Designated Survivor airs Wednesdays at 10pm on ABC.
