When fashion retail guru Daymond John calls you “the best salesman” he’s seen, you know you’re good. That’s what happened to Sebastian Garcia when he pitched his business, The Lapel Project on Shark Tank in September 2016. The Lapel Project sells custom lapel covers designed to turn everyday suit jackets into tuxedo jackets. A great solution when you need a tuxedo — but don’t want to buy or rent one. On Shark Tank, billionaire Mark Cuban was impressed with Garcia, too. Garcia went into the Tank seeking $150,000 in exchange for 20 percent equity. Cuban offered him $150k for 30 percent and Garcia accepted.

Garcia said immediately after filming the episode, Cuban’s team worked with The Lapel Project to help them get ready for online sales. Since the Shark Tank episode aired, Cuban has helped to promote The Lapel Project brand, even when being interviewed on a sports talk show. He said in the clip below, The Lapel Project “is one of my all-time favorite deals.” [27 Favorite ‘Shark Tank’ Products at Amazon]
