During the third round of auditions on American Idol, judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan meet Samothias. The 20-year-old from Wheaton, Illinois will sit at the piano and perform the soulful song “Unaware” by Allen Stone. It’s been around for six years but not everyone in America knows the song. Stone uses an analogy of a financial deficit to sing about a relationship that can’t stretch any farther.
The 31-year-old from Chewelah, Washington famously performed the song “Unaware” in his mother’s living room (see video below). The song is on Allen Stone’s self-titled album. American Idol airs Sundays and Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
