As though you didn’t have enough reasons for a little Steph Curry envy, the two-time NBA MVP and a couple of his teammates (Andre Iguodala and Klay Thompson) are set to play golf at Augusta National this weekend, just a month before the Masters Tournament — golf’s first major. The Warriors are visiting the Atlanta Hawks, putting Curry and friends in the neighborhood. Augusta National, founded by legendary golfer Bobby Jones in 1933, is one of the most exclusive private clubs in the country with about 300 members — all from the card-carrying elite.
But Curry and his Warrior pals got invited to play because, you know, they’re in the fame club. All three men take their golf pretty seriously. Curry shared a photo from his hotel that showed a glass table smashed to smithereens — an accidental result of some indoor golf swings he was practicing. Or what Curry calls being an “idiot.”
One last fact to stoke some good-hearted Steph Curry envy. As much of the East Coast is blanketed with an icy, gale-force Nor’easter, the forecast for Augusta, Georgia on Saturday is 66 degrees and sunny. Hit ’em well, Steph.
