In the Married to Medicine episode “Invitations and Revelations,” it’s date night for Dr. Contessa Metcalfe and her husband Dr. Scott Metcalfe. With their full-time careers and three kids, the couple rarely has time for date night. The cameras follow them to a romantic Italian restaurant, of which Contessa approves.
After ordering, Scott asks Contessa how her day was and she launches into how difficult their busy schedules are. She tells her husband “I feel guilty every time I miss something,” for their kids. “I feel like life is bigger than work.” She says she lives in the “mommy guilt” and points out that Scott has never heard of “daddy guilt.” Contessa proposes that “one of us needs to step back and let their career take the back burner for these children.” Scott does not volunteer to quit. He asks his wife, “You want to stop working?” Married to Medicine airs Fridays at 9pm on Bravo.
