The Hallmark Channel movie The Christmas Cottage is about a young couple who reunites and falls in love, again. Interior designer Lacey (Merritt Patterson, The Royals) is the maid-of-honor for her best friend, the blonde and bubbly Ava. What’s awkward is that Lacey used to date Ava’s brother Ean (Steve Lund, Reign). Ava, who’s already walking on Cloud 9, tells Lacey whoever stays at the family cottage finds everlasting love. Lacey doesn’t believe the family myth…at first. (The film is based on New York Times bestselling author Samantha Chase’s novel of the same title.)

The bubbly bride Ava is portrayed by Brittney Wilson. The Canadian-born actress is known for her roles on Gap Year (Ashley), The Unauthorized Full House Story (Older Candace Cameron), Rogue (Connie), Bates Motel (Lissa), and as a child actress on Nickelodeon’s Romeo! (Myra Salinger), among others. Wilson is also an advocate of mental health awareness (see post below). The Christmas Cottage premieres on Hallmark on Saturday, December 9 at 8pm.
