On the Black Ink Crew: Chicago episode “I Cleared My Truth,” while the crew comes up with a plan to get Kat to return to 9Mag, Charmaine arrives on the set of her first movie shoot with her glam squad (hair and makeup). “Your star is here!” she yells when she walks into the bar where the cameras are already rolling. Cut! “How was I supposed to know?” she says. Things don’t get better from there. Charmaine says she expected her own trailer and hours of time to get her glammed up. She’s given just 30 minutes under a tent.
Charmaine is playing a barmaid in the psychological thriller Mollywood with rapper Waka Flocka Flame (Love & Hip Hop Atlanta). Mollywood, which is directed by Morocco Vaugh (see below), is about a serial killer who disguises himself as a drug dealer. On Black Ink Crew Chicago, Nikki, who offered to do Charmaine’s hair on set, predicts the movie is going straight to DVD due to the work conditions which, in Nikki’s words, “are not cute.” According to the Mollywood Facebook page, the movie should be released in 2018. Black Ink Crew Chicago airs Wednesdays at 9pm on VH1.
