Tom Burden is a U.S. Air Force fighter-jet machine-gun mechanic from Columbus, Ohio — and Burden is also an inventor. Burden is the founder of Grypmat, “the world’s best non-slip tool tray.” It’s a rubberized mat that holds tools on any abnormal surface without having to worry about tools sliding off. Burden is demonstrating Grypmat on Shark Tank on Sunday, November 12. He has either the good fortune or bad luck of presenting in front of guest shark, Sir Richard Branson, founder and CEO of Virgin Airlines. Burden uses the incline on the aerodynamic nose of a jet for his Shark Tank demo.
