The Dateline episode “Secrets in Silver Lakes” investigates the 2014 murder of former Redlands firefighter Robert Limon. The 38-year-old California man was found fatally shot at a Santa Fe railway building where he worked. Limon was involuntarily involved in a love triangle. His wife Sabrina Limon, 35, was having an affair with 24-year-old firefighter Jonathan Hearn. In 2014, Hearn pleaded not guilty to Limon’s murder. In January 2017, he pleaded guilty. In exchange for his testimony, he expects a reduced sentence of 25 years and four months in prison. Sabrina Limon was convicted for conspiring with Hearn. Both will be sentenced on Friday, November 3 (the same day the Dateline episode airs).
Weeks after her husband’s murder, Sabrina Limon wrote on Facebook: “We received something wonderful from Rob Limon’s life and the effects are truly overwhelming. It’s a feeling of joy, yet I’m totally numb to the fact that I’m left on earth now without him. I look towards God and the beautiful sky HE painted with colors that fill my heart with hope to see Rob again some day.” Dateline airs Fridays at 9pm on NBC.
