Cerebral Success is a supplement that claims to help enhance one’s focus and memory. The young bespectacled entrepreneur behind the “brain pills”, college student Trevor Hiltbrand, pitched his business on Shark Tank in 2014. Although he didn’t have clinical studies or proof that the pills work, on the show Barbara Corcoran invested $75,000 in Cerebral Success in exchange for 40 percent equity. Corcoran later said, “I invested in Cerebral Success on Shark Tank because I understand there’s a real need for a good product that helps people improve memory and focus.”

Since Shark Tank, Cerebral Success released a study of SmartX which claims the brain pills “increases processing speed by 12 percent, memory recall by 13 percent and alpha brain waves (associated with focus) by 55 percent after seven days.” While bottles of SmartX (60 capsules for $65) is still available on Amazon (see link above) and on the website, the company hasn’t posted on their social media accounts since March 2015. In June 2015, according to his LinkedIn account, the BYU graduate Hiltbrand became CEO of Transparent Labs, which “offers sports supplements with 100% formula transparency and key ingredients included at clinically effective dosages.” [27 Favorite Shark Tank Products at Amazon — New List]
