In the This Is Us episode “Déjà vu,” while Rebecca (Mandy Moore) tries to reconnect with her husband Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), in the present Kevin (Justin Hartley) gets to work with Sylvester Stallone on a war movie set, and Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) get exciting news about becoming foster parents. They meet with social worker Linda who is to help them with the process. This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman said of the character, “She’s lovely — but also somebody who’s been doing this and knows the reality of it all.”

Linda is portrayed by Debra Jo Rupp. She’s known for her roles on That ’70s Show (Kitty Forman) and Friends (Alice Knight Buffay), among others. Rupp is also recognized for her roles in the films She’s Out of My League (Mrs. Kettner), and Big (Miss Patterson, Tom Hanks’ secretary). Fun fact: Rupp was recently in the play “Cake” which was written by This Is Us writer Bekah Brunstetter. This Is Us airs Tuesdays at 9pm on NBC, right after The Voice.
