On Friday, September 8, all of the major TV networks in America (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX) will give up their prime-time slots to air EIF Presents: XQ Super School Live. EIF stands for Entertainment Industry Foundation. For the past 75 years the foundation has been “raising awareness and funds for critical health, educational and social issues by harnessing the collective power of the entertainment community.” The mission of XQ: The Super School is to “rethink and design the American high school so it prepares every student for success in college, career and life.” XQ was founded by Russlynn Ali, former Assistant Secretary of Education for Civil Rights under President Barack Obama.
EIF is the organization behind celebrity studded events including Stand Up To Cancer, Think It Up, and Hunger Is, among others. How to Get Away with Murder star Viola Davis and her husband Julius Tennon are the executive producers of EIF Presents: XQ Super School Live.
