The SMARTwheel is a steering wheel cover designed to prevent distracted driving. The technology embedded in the cover alerts the driver when there’s only one hand on the steering wheel or two hands together which is often the case when someone is texting while driving. The inventors of the SMARTwheel are a group of kids from New Hampshire. They pitched the prototype of SMARTwheel on Shark Tank in 2013.
