It’s difficult to write a headline for Jon Dorenbos. The multitalented performer is a top-rated long-snapper in the NFL, and a magician so good he almost won America’s Got Talent. (Dorenbos was a finalist.) Since long-snappers aren’t quarterbacks, and because everybody loves magic, we usually choose to identify him as AGT’s Jon Dorenbos. After all, that’s how most of America became familiar with Dorenbos’ moving story of perseverance and achievement after a rough start in life.
Luckily for Dorenbos — and for his fans — the magician was also the recipient of the magic touch recently as the New Orleans Saints medical staff identified an aortic aneurysm during a routine post-trade physical. (Dorenbos was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Saints in the offseason.) The aortic aneurysm required open heart surgery, according to the NFL, which Dorenbos underwent this week. He’s reportedly doing well. And, as the photo below shows, his heart is in good hands. (Below that, check out his AGT audition tape!)
How about Mr. Dorenbos, making the magic?!!
