On Celebrity Family Feud, after R&B singer Faith Evans plays against TV personality Ross Mathews, five athletes from the U.S. Gymnastics Team will play against five athletes from the U.S. Swimming Team. The gymnast are led by 5-foot-tall Shannon Miller, the most decorated U.S. gymnast (male or female) at the Olympic Games (1996) with seven medals.
[Miller’s memoir is It’s Not About Perfect: Competing for My Country and Fighting for My Life]
Shannon Miller, now 40, retired from gymnastics in 2000 after the Sydney Olympics. Miller went on to graduate from the University of Houston and graduated from Boston College Law School but did not take the bar exam. She got married and had two children. In February 2011, she was diagnosed with germ cell ovarian cancer a month after she had a baseball-sized cyst removed from one of her ovaries. After three cycles of chemotherapy, in September 2011, Miller was given a clean bill of health. Her memoir about the experience (see link above) is an inspiring tale. Celebrity Family Feud airs Sundays at 8pm on ABC.
